I love the previous night, and the night after this, but this show has one big problem......Jerry is just not with it. There is just nothing exciting happening
...
with him. The Shakedown is DOA, the Terrapin is worse. Bobby tries to fire up the Playin, but Jerry has nothing to add in the jam. I haven't gotten past the Playin, so hopefully Jerry kills the Stella to redeem this snoozefest ! Wanna hear a smokin 81 Shakedown? Try Utica or Cornell.

This was one of my 1st shows, it was all new to me and most of it blew me away. I still have a deep fondness in my heart for Peggy-O and would argue that
...
Jack Straw is as fine an opener as there ever was, but going back and listening to this show the let it grow stands out the most to me. I was 17 my friends were into punk and gave me a lot of $hit about the dead, but I would challenge anyone to stand in front of that band hear these songs and not become a fan?

I downloaded this show a year or two ago, one thing I would like to point out is the phil bombs get insane during the second set so watch out if you care
...
about your speakers.
Awesome show which is on fire with energy. Jerry is taking command during this show.

My suggestion would be to look through the Dead collection for any and all shows that are downloadable and get them all!! Unless, of course, they have
...
poor ratings, but I've found that the majority are great...including this one!!

This was one of the greatest Dead shows I ever saw. An inspired show all the way through. Stella Blue is the best version I have ever heard. Ken Kesey
...
plays harmonica with the Rhythm Devils. Six out of Five stars... quite possibly the best Dead show I ever saw
